Meet Dr. Stephen Ruchlin
Over the years, many dentists and specialists across the Rochester area have referred their more challenging cases to Dr. Stephen Ruchlin, including complex restorative cases, cosmetic treatment, dental implants and root canals. One of his strengths is managing complicated dental needs, including hybrid dentures anchored by implants and full-mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Ruchlin regularly takes continuing education courses to keep his skills current.
Dr. Ruchlin grew up in Buffalo, New York, and earned his dental degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1996. The following year, he was accepted into a highly regarded residency at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Buffalo, where he trained with three internationally recognized specialists in periodontics, prosthodontics, and endodontics. He completed the program with top honors, having gained deep skills in each of these specialized areas.
He serves as a clinical instructor in the residency program at Eastman School of Dentistry and has worked with the Rochester Amerks, the area's local hockey team. He has also taught specialized courses to fellow dental professionals.
Dr. Ruchlin sits on the board of the Cancer Wellness Center of Buffalo and has taught coursework to medical students there as well. He has also contributed to Monroe Community College's high school outreach program, helping introduce students to the dental hygiene field.
Dr. Ruchlin has been recognized by the 7th District Dental Society for his commitment to continuing education. In 2008, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry honored him in the category of best veneer cases in the country. He was also named among the top dentists in America in 2009.
His professional affiliations include the Monroe County Dental Society, the 7th District Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Alpha Omega International Dental Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Ruchlin enjoys golf, wood carving, and traveling the world. He especially values time spent with his wife and two children.
